Life among surface folk was difficult, but Rina adapted. She learned quickly that ideals meant little without resources to survive, and that coin often opened doors faster than honor ever would. >[!info|clean center no-i no-t] >>[!recite|no-i]- [Blood And Blossoms](Blood%20And%20Blossoms.md) >Eventually, her talents brought her into the service of Lord Kujo Kirosai, a powerful noble whose patronage offered both steady pay and protection. > >Her loyalty, such as it was, was tested when she was assigned to escort the ashes of the lord’s deceased son to a renowned swordmaster, where they were to be forged into a blade. The task was grim, but well-compensated, and that alone made it worth accepting. Together with [Kenji](Kenji%20Akatsuki%20no%20Ken.md), [Florida Steve](Florida%20Steve.md), [Jiyu](Jiyu%20Fuujin.md) and [Rikkar](Rikkar%20Sharpshanks.md), they arrived at the village, where complications arose; the blacksmith’s apprentice had gone missing, along with the precious metal required for the sword. > >As it turned out, ronin had stolen the metal. The group tracked the ronin back to their base of operations to confront them, where they met their leader Akechi Kirosai, the banished son of Lord Kujo Kirosai. Akechi revealed the truth Lord Kirosai had buried beneath generations of honor: the family’s immortality was bought with the souls of its sons, bound into a demon-possessed blade that slowly consumed its wielder. The demon had begun to dominate Lord Kirosai entirely, turning him into little more than a vessel. > >With directions from Akechi, the group traveled to the ancestral Kirosai estate, long abandoned and overrun by yokai and akuma. The group negotiated with the strongest among them and managed to gain entry. In the forge within the estate, the group managed to seal some of the power of the demon blade. But while there, Rina was contacted by a strange disembodied voice, who claimed to be helping her and said that they would meet in person soon. She shrugged it off as some yokai shenanigans, but it might have been more than that… > >When they returned to the current Kirosai estate, they found Akechi locked in battle with Kujo. The group intervened, and together, they defeated Kujo and sealed the demon back into the sword. With the immediate threat ended, Akechi entrusted the group with a greater purpose. He sent them across the sea to [Aelenclast](Aelenclast.md), a newly discovered continent, rumored to hold the means to save the world. For Rina, the new continent meant new opportunities, untapped riches, and the promise that whatever awaited them there would be worth the risk.
