This stone is carved from one of the runes you know. That stone then floats around your head, taking the head slot. This stone augments all spells you cast with the selected run effect. You can have a number of Ioun Stones active in this way equal to your proficiency modifier. You can destroy a stone to carve a new one when you use this feature. These stones become inert after a long rest.
