If this effect is from a divine or outsider source, you can instead use this once per round. In addition, whenever you would be reduced to 0 hit points, you may spend 500GP. If you do, you are reduced to 1 hit point instead. Repeated uses of this ability doubles the cost each time. This stacking resets after a long rest.
