# Exposure
The Exposure regulates how much magic is focused around you.
Whenever you cast a spell, for an hour you have an amount of Exposure equal to the level of the spell you cast. Additional casts stack both the Exposure and the time before it fades. Your Exposure does not reduce individually, only when the duration of ALL sources of Exposure runs out, does it reduce.
Overuse of magic interferes with natural leylines, possibly spawning destructive creatures such as demons and fey which are a great threat to common people. Additionally, Exposure generated from using magic resonates with accursed objects and regions to the detriment of the people. Therefore, magic users and beings with high Exposure may be judged as apostates by followers of [Mytheria](Mytheria.md).
Sleeping within the Mytherian Church in the Pale City clears exposure.
Cantrips create fast exposure that clears after approximately 10 to 60 minutes
Levelled spell exposure takes longer to clear, and may vary by type.
(Roughly)
Permanent exposure does not stack. You only take your highest source of permanent exposure.
However, constant exposure does stack with permanent exposure and can have multiple sources of constant exposure.
- 1-3 Exposure- roughly 1 day
- 4-6 Exposure- < 1 week
- 7-9 Exposure- 1 to 2 weeks
There are five kinds of exposure:
- Exposure (Neutral or Unaligned)
- Hallowed (Good)
- Corruption (Evil)
- Anarchy (Chaotic)
- Axiom (Lawful)
