To cast one of these spells, you must expend a slot of the spell's level or higher. You regain all expended spell slots when you finish a long rest. #### Preparing Spells You prepare the list of Wizard spells that are available for you to cast. To do so, choose a number of Wizard spells from your spell list equal to your **Intelligence modifier + your Wizard level** (minimum of one spell). The spells must be of a level for which you have spell slots. You can change your list of prepared spells when you finish a long rest. Preparing a new list of Wizard spells requires time spent studying your spell and memorizing the incantations and gestures you must make to cast the spell: at least 1 minute per spell level for each spell on your list. #### Spellcasting Ability Intelligence is your spellcasting ability for your Wizard spells, since you learn your Wizard spells through dedicated study and memorization. You use your Intelligence whenever a spell refers to your spellcasting ability. In addition, you use your Intelligence modifier when setting the saving throw DC for a Wizard spell you cast and when making an attack roll with one. - **Spell save DC** = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Intelligence modifier - **Spell attack modifier** = your proficiency bonus + your Intelligence modifier #### Ritual Casting You can cast a Wizard spell as a ritual if that spell has the ritual tag and you have the spell in your spell list. You don't need to have the spell prepared. #### Learning Spells of 1st Level and Higher |Level|[Cantrip](Cantrip.md)|Learn|How| |:-:|:-:|:-:|---| |1st|2|2| [Cantrip Selection](Cantrip%20Selection.md), [Spell Selection](Spell%20Selection.md) | |2nd|—|—|—| |3rd|—|2|[Spell Selection](Spell%20Selection.md) | |4th|—|—|—| |5th|—|2|[Spell Selection](Spell%20Selection.md) | In [Corvanis](Corvanis.md) you learn spells much slower automatically. However; just like base Wizard in 5e you can also learn spells by finding them throughout the continent and learning them like how a 5e wizard can add spells to their spellbook, doing so is no simple task. #### Translate Spells Wizards are able to translate spells from one [Casting Wellspring](Casting%20Wellsprings.md) to another using a [Corvanis Scribe Kit](Corvanis%20Scribe%20Kit.md). This requires [Corvanis Scribe Kit](Corvanis%20Scribe%20Kit.md) proficiency. Wizards are able to teach spell casters spells normally not available to their [Casting Wellspring](Casting%20Wellsprings.md) by use of a translated spell. #### Scroll Crafting Wizards are able to create spell scrolls using a [Corvanis Scribe Kit](Corvanis%20Scribe%20Kit.md). This requires [Corvanis Scribe Kit](Corvanis%20Scribe%20Kit.md) proficiency. - Base (Wizard) scroll crafting: 1 day per spell level - [Forge Implement](Forge%20Implement.md) Feat: 2 hours per spell level - [Forge Implement](Forge%20Implement.md) Feat & [Corvanis Scribe Kit](Corvanis%20Scribe%20Kit.md) trick ([Sacred Inks](Sacred%20Inks.md)): 1 hour per spell level
