# Implement
Used by casters as their casting focus and is used as a augment for their [Spells](Spells.md) they cast through it. However, implements are not required to cast spells. Available casting implements are rods, wands, orbs, spell scrolls, and [Conduit](Conduit.md) weapons.
Crafting implements require the [Forge Implement](Forge%20Implement.md) [Feat](Feats.md), and implement masterwork augmentations may be applied through use of this feat.
Casting implements do not count as occupying open hands for the purposes of some game mechanics. (Example: [Dueling](Corvanis/Items/Armory/Definitions/Weapon%20Properties/Dueling.md) or [Mana Dance](Mana%20Dance.md) requirements).
The [Wizard](Corvanis/Character%20Creation/Classes/Wizard/Wizard.md) subclasses augment each of the implements of rod, wand and, orbs.

>Orbs augment magic to deal with more defensive magic and supporting the party. The [Wizard](Corvanis/Character%20Creation/Classes/Wizard/Wizard.md) [Feat](Feats.md), [Orb Ponderer](Orb%20Ponderer.md) allows the orb properties to be applied to those who are excluded from the [Spell](Spells.md) cast.

>- **Base:** Needs to be made out of a [Brittle](Brittle.md) material.
>- **Adornment:** Physical modifier you may add, if part of the church this must use one of the symbols of the [Church of Mytheria's](Church%20of%20Mytheria.md) or be considered heresy.
>- **Inscriptions:** At base are [Spells](Spells.md), these spells are not directly added but augment what properties are added to the orb at the end of crafting.
>- **Hard Enchantments:** Rituals you cast while crafting the item. These may be [Spells](Spells.md), [Song](Song%20Selection.md), or Dances.
