They are the machinations of the Cardinal Tyre. Facsimiles to create an origin myth for research purposes. - Your continent is the result of an abandoned research project - one of them appears to be imprisoned as well but its chains are slipping. - The project was abandoned and festered on its own after the war against the Enemy. - You are here because you have ascended. It is this ones duty to ensure you do not lose your path and your ascension is controlled - It is good that you have ascended and sought our assistance. Only those that have properly ascended and sought our assistance. There is a cost for those who know of things they should not and have not refracted properly. Such beings I am afraid must be dealt with and will no doubt be visited by our wardens. But you have no need to fear - Your ascension has released you from the confines of a single realm and has granted you a glimpse to what lies beyond. It is entirely up to you how you will use it. ### <font color="#be1005">The Leylines of Corvanis  The leylines of your realm are sick and twisted. The war of ideologies that have made their way throughout your continent. It is the result, however, not of this war, for the war is the symptom. The leylines are sickly because of your cardinal’s experiment. If you wish to fix them, then you will have to undo it. ### <font color="#be1005">The beginnings of the universe itself:    It is said that in the beginning there was nothing. There was naught but death and it was alone. It is also believed that death was unaware of itself. It simply was. It is through the confines of this great nothing that something began. A seed, a bright light, enamored itself before death. The shadows coiled. The darkness bent its will. As the seed coiled outwards into a great tree of life. Of that great tree, thousands of branches spread, and all the while, death observed it, saw it, and by observing it, saw himself. For the light begat the shadow and gave it form and trace. For one cannot exist without the other. And so, Lord Death watched the great tree of life begin to grow. Learning early that his touch caused it to wither. Although he was saddened by this occurrence, he watched life grow, and was no longer alone. It is said, that death made a promise to life, to be its guardian, and its caretaker. And with that, the first of the seven covenants were made. And so, as death kept his vigil, the tree of yggdrasil continued to grow. As its branches spread, those that became sickly and spread were removed by Lord Death to ensure the health of the whole. The most brilliant of these flowers grew outwards bearing with it the even greater fruit of life. Within these petals, the nebulae, within them the worlds, and within them you. That is where it began. ### <font color="#be1005">The Seven Covenants - The seven covenants represent the promises Lord Death made to life. Each one forging a different aspect of life. Strengthening it, shaping it. Sharpening it. Each one is different representation of a facet of existence. Each one is Death’s promises and at the same time the promises are the covenants. The first covenant was made to death’s role itself and how it would be portrayed towards life. Life must go through challenges and trials to strength itself and the cost of its failure is death. And so, as death’s role was made, it would take the sickly and stagnant branches of the tree of life and remove them to ensure the health of the whole. Which is why the depiction of death is frightening to most, because they do not understand it. - The second covenant is the transition that life from one space to another. The waking realm and the dream. A place of reflection and thought and joy and whimsy. Life unbound by the harshness of the waking realm, a temporary respite, and a final destination. - The third for health and abundance. A covenant to ensure the roots were always strong. That the leaves are bright to shine with light. For life seeks plenty and always seeks to spread and death would ensure this aspect was protected. - The fourth represents all that which had came before. For life without measurement cannot be understood, progress lost, and indeed the aspect of time itself was formed by the fourth covenant. Death would see that those that prepared to be wreathed in fortune and to be known for their responsibilities. - The fifth covenant was to ensure life would have purpose. More so than to life, but that the trials of the world may be overcome, that any how, the sufficient why. Through avarice and sacrifice the fifth covenant is that of ambition. The promise death would see these ambitions of life, to allow for its strength and blooming. - The sixth covenant forged by those that would work as one. Friendship and joy in shared success. The covenant of wisdom to temper that of ambition’s fury. - The final covenant, the one that allows the records of all. That shows that one even existed. A power given to life. The seventh and final covenant. The covenant of mercy which granted memory and finality. Through that finality, memory would not be forgotten and the final task of Death, the longevity of all those that lived. The seventh covenant was restored and repaired when the Enemy was defeated. And so, the prism is whole again. ### <font color="#be1005">What are the gods purpose in all this? The gods are simply smaller branches spouting leaves of faith.
