> Just like that, Elder Gav died, and the mantle passed to Sorn. He stood there watching Elder Gav’s mate cry her eyes out. He was too young, too inexperienced to wear the mask. He knew it, the tribe knew it, Chief Kroga was the only one that didnt seem to understand how bad an idea it was. No one challenged him when Sorn was named, not even Sorn himself. Now Gav was dead and the Skyshout clan no longer had a spiritual guide. None that was worthy at least. The next few days passed in a blur, Sorn could not really even remember them, all he remembered was the Chief frowning and commanding him to take the climb,to beseech the sky and offer the mask to the mountain spirit. To pray that the wind would grant him the strength to see shadows of the demon threat before it it came. To warn of rival clans before they struck and all other manner of near impossible things that Elder Gav did effortlessly. But still, he was chosen, so he climbed...
