And this, is my story… insert Cuban bongo drumming > >I grew up in The Demon Wastes. In the village of Ragtar’s Fist. I was the eldest of my family. Not just eldest son, but eldest child. I helped Mama by doing my chores, her name was Chime, and the most beautiful woman in all of Corvanis, at least that’s what Papa would say. (Editor’s Note: She is not) Speaking of Papa! He was a great warrior, but he wanted me to not use metal stuff because I had a bad history with knives. So good ‘ole Papa Djembe had me use a big stick! He kept hitting me on the head with not the sharp end of his good sword when I would use the big stick with one hand. Apparently I was supposed to use it with both hands. I got pretty good at it. So much so, that Mama Chime let me be the one to discipline my brothers and sisters. There was Bro Congas who was a year younger, Sis Maraca who was three years younger, Sis Cowbell who was a few minutes younger than Sis Maracas, she always had a temper, and was the biggest of us. Then there was the triplet Bros, Cabascas, Timbales, and Guiros. They were five years younger. Then there was Bro Cajon, he was seven years younger. I called him “Lucky Lip”. The last child was Lil’ Sis Tambourine, she was a quiet one, being the smallest, and ten plus one years younger than me, and she and Sis Cowbell would get along great! > >But yeah, they’re my family. I trained with Papa, helped Mama around the house, and then I’d hit my siblings every now and then. Eventually, enough of my siblings all got old enough to help out Mama, and Papa said that I was ready to go hunting with him! I was so excited. Then there was Micha'el. . . Micha'el was a swell lad. Talked a lot about his crush, “Mytheria ''. I used to think that she must be the second prettiest orc in all of Corvanis. Figured that had to be the case since Micha'el was so in love with her. But turns out she’s a really big deal, like she’s the top of an entire church. It was honestly quite incredible to learn. I just think it’s funny that it took a whole year for Micha'el to tell me who Mytheria actually is. But anyways, Micha’el is one of the strongest and most stoic orcs I’ve ever seen. I was told by Mama that the moment the two of us met, we were “conjoined at the hip”. Now I don’t know what ‘conjoined’ means, but it came from Mama said it, Papa agreed, so it must be a good thing! Congas tried to teach me ‘conjoined’, since Congas is the smart one, but I couldn’t understand his fancy words like “attach”. Anyways, I spent the next few years only training and hunting with Papa most days, and then training with Micha’el on the other days. It’s funny, because both of them said I was too reckless with my fighting. So with that, and some hard work, I learned to fight like a true warrior. But… soon after I started getting good, Papa Djembe fell in battle against a demon. I was so sad, but luckily Micha’el was there to help me and Mama whenever he could, so all was fine. But before I knew it, he said he was leaving the village to go and serve Mytheria, leaving me here. I was so so sad after that, lost and not knowing what to do. > >Then, Cowbell threw a tantrum while Mama was cooking dinner, and. . . the fire spread all throughout the house. Only I got out of it. After that fire took my family, I was so so so empty. For a while, I returned to the place I used to call home. Retracing the familiar paths of the walls, I was racked with guilt, until I could reach the dining floor, where I used to be greeted by the warm smiles of my family. This has led to an inflated ego. Which was swiftly corrected when he later nearly drowned.
