He’d reunite with his brother [Meryl](Meryl%20Dion.md) and together they’d go with [Kaito](Kaito%20Dion.md) just to make sure he got to his destination in the west safely. From there it’s back to hitting the road and telling the tale of his brothers efforts in the Yokai Shrines, their amazing party, and how they saved Corvanis. After acquiring his much desired fame Gene can finally go and put it to use. The reason he needed to be so well renowned in the first place is because he had fallen in love with the daughter of a noble in [The Three Kings](The%20Three%20Kings.md). A low born man like him only saw one shot to her hand befitting his talents and once he’s made that name for himself then how could any sensible nobleman refuse a suitor known across the whole continent? He would find himself rivaled by another bard, a man known as [the Don of Glass](Simon%20Hightower.md), with such a worthy opponent, their battle would be a tale of song and glory in and of itself. >
