The [Traveler's Souls](Traveler's%20Soul.md) are miniature prisms which can interact with the light and the world through a unique facet known as their character. It is through their eyes that we see the light, where light enters the characters ### Description From Session 36 of _[Gailen's Gate](Gailen's%20Gate.md/)_: > The Seven are not gods, not like the others. They are hailed as gods. The Seven are, or were, but mortal kin, refracted through souls and time. The enemy that they faced was of such power that all of creation itself was challenged. The cost of their victory is also their defeat. It is said at least. the Seven can’t help, for they are not here. They are stuck between existence and oblivion. a subtle shadow on the wall. It is said that the Seven sometimes live anew, reflected through a new soul. Although recent to the pantheons of deities, no deity is perhaps more well respected by all pantheons, than the Seven, a band of mortals that rose up during the recent time of The Reckoning, striking down the greatest threat all creation ever knew, only to in the end, disappear from the world. No one knows why they are gone, nor where they have gone to, but all creatures whom carry the mantle of deity, give a fraction of their power to the Seven, as payment for what they have done. For the greatest gift, the Seven ever gave, was hope. Through out the mortal realm, shrines to them can be seen spreading this hope, the seven statues ever vigilant, in case their enemy should ever return.[^1](https://www.worldanvil.com/w/verum-arcadum/a/the-seven-article) # The Originals - Indigo Scar (trial and challenge, death and sacrifice), wielded by [Koga Nightblade](Koga%20Nightblade.md/) - Blue Cross (dream and reflection), wielded by Saphira - Green Triangle (life, abundance, health, growth), wielded by [Falcon Bladeweaver](Falcon%20Bladeweaver.md/) - Yellow Square (time, preparedness and responsibility), wielded by Tatalia - Orange Star (ambition and sacrifice), wielded by [Scorter Fire Fist](Scorter%20Firefist.md/) - Red Star (wisdom, comradery and teamwork), wielded by Frotul - Violet Star (oblivion, memory, and the all seeing), wielded by the [Enemy](Enemy.md/) ### Prominent followers - [Amaris Kingvale](Amaris%20Kingvale.md/) from _[The Trial of the Traitor](The%20Trial%20of%20the%20Traitor.md/)_ - [Braktor Ironbellows](Braktor%20Ironbellows.md/) from _[Soul of Tyre](Soul%20of%20Tyre.md/)_ - [Felor](Felor.md/) from _[Wicked Ways](Wicked%20Ways.md/)_ - [Seren Tredder](Seren%20Tredder.md/) from _[Heart of Tyre](Heart%20of%20Tyre.md/)_ - [Zachariah](Zachariah.md/) from _[The Inquisition](The%20Inquisition%20(Campaign).md/)_ ### History From Session 36 of _[Gailen's Gate](Gailen's%20Gate.md/)_: > _This Yggdrasil, the great tree grows and from its blossoms there are many worlds. But such is the unfortunate state that somehow, somewhere, an anomaly occurred. A Being, whose name I cannot utter rose. And it began to destroy. Not kill. But destroy. A sickness upon the tree. It grew rapid and quick. Four times. Four times before the last, Succeeded. Death, the everpresent guardian, severed the branches that were infected in the hopes that the great tree would remain healthy and Strong. But it was not to be, for though his power was great, death has its limitations. But this being does not. Each time it was cast into nothing, Each time it returned. With no way to stop it, a final gamble was made. The infection had made the trunk of the tree, and in the center Death took mortal form. And The Seven rose. Through every challenge, through every trial, death's hand wielded strength to test them, to mold them, for the great covenants that forged the tree prevented those that were beyond his reach, from helping. For Death's Gambit was not in the great powerful gods, the Cosmic Beings or even in his own hand, but rather in the smallest of things. The tiny lights upon the tree. Each soul and individual flickering. The Candle no matter how small can glow so very bright. It was there on the slopes of creation upon the very edge of night Lord Death fought one last time. He fought The Seven. The final test. For only the Covenant of Death could be broken with his failure. And so they did. And in that defeat, they were removed from the tapestry. And they could fight the enemy on Equal Terms. And so they did. [...] You see, The Seven had risen above any other calculation, category, or definition. And there they faced the enemy upon the shattered sky of Kalketesh, the fate of Verum was determined. And for the first time, the Enemy failed._ ### Followers - Anyone, though the Seven are not known to most of the native people of [Corvanis](Corvanis.md) ### Religious Views - Hope - Adventurers - Mortals >>[!info|no-i clean]- ### Spoilers >> >> _What do the colors represent?_ >>- The Red Star represents the Unity of All into One. Many hands make light work and creation has it's blueprint. (Sixth Iteration) >> >>- The seven covenants represent the promises [Lord Death](Lord%20Death.md) made to life. Each one forging a different aspect of life. Strengthening it, shaping it. Sharpening it. Each one is different representation of a facet of existence. Each one is Death’s promises and at the same time the promises are the covenants. >>- The first covenant was made to death’s role itself and how it would be portrayed towards life. Life must go through challenges and trials to strength itself and the cost of its failure is death. And so, as death’s role was made, it would take the sickly and stagnant branches of the tree of life and remove them to ensure the health of the whole. Which is why the depiction of death is frightening to most, because they do not understand it. (The Trials of the Indigo) >>- The second covenant is the transition that life from one space to another. The waking realm and the dream. A place of reflection and thought and joy and whimsy. Life unbound by the harshness of the waking realm, a temporary respite, and a final destination. (Dream and Reflection of the Blue) >>- The third for health and abundance. A covenant to ensure the roots were always strong. That the leaves are bright to shine with light. For life seeks plenty and always seeks to spread and death would ensure this aspect was protected. (Life and Abundance of the Green) >>- The fourth represents all that which had came before. For life without measurement cannot be understood, progress lost, and indeed the aspect of time itself was formed by the fourth covenant. Death would see that those that prepared to be wreathed in fortune and to be known for their responsibilities. (Time and Responsibility of the Yellow) >>- The fifth covenant was to ensure life would have purpose. More so than to life, but that the trials of the world may be overcome, that any how, the sufficient why. Through avarice and sacrifice the fifth covenant is that of ambition. The promise death would see these ambitions of life, to allow for its strength and blooming. (Ambition and Sacrifice of the Orange) >>- The sixth covenant forged by those that would work as one. Friendship and joy in shared success. The covenant of wisdom to temper that of ambition’s fury. (Unity of the Red) >>- The final covenant, the one that allows the records of all. That shows that one even existed. A power given to life. The seventh and final covenant. The covenant of mercy which granted memory and finality. Through that finality, memory would not be forgotten and the final task of Death, the longevity of all those that lived. The seventh covenant was restored and repaired when the Enemy was defeated. And so, the prism is whole again.
