# The Herald
### Background
The **Herald** is the primary servant of the [The Enemy](The%20Enemy.md) which the Heroes of [Kalkatesh](Kalkatesh.md) fought during the Cataclysm.
### Description
The Herald can not exist without the [Seven](The%20Seven.md) and vice versa. It serves the [The Enemy](The%20Enemy.md).
# History
## Approach to Verum
>Red light emits from the Astral Traveler as the Herald crashes into the prismatic trap set up by Azolon. Shortly before the fight begins, an unknown vessel appears and fires off a beam of light into the Herald. The power of Death's Scythe within the beam wounds the Herald. Standing on top of the Maltosian spaceship are the Lords of Flower Water. The Astral Traveler sends the Seven Eyes and their companions into the prism to face the Violet Herald.[^1](https://youtu.be/rvGgEzGU_xo?feature=shared)
## The Cataclysm
>The prism forms a solidified base on which the seven groups stand. Below them is the Twilight Station and in front is the Herald, attempting to break through. From each group one brave adventurer steps up to fight the Herald as the Prism's light can only protect seven of them at a time.
>
>(The fight against the Violet Herald is different from the fights we saw before. Only one member from each of the seven Violet Eye groups can participate at a single time. Whenever one of the heroes fades, one of their party members may take their place. The players chose their first team before the other details of the fight were given.)
>
>The first ones to step up are Tirsis Margolas, Bryan the Night Guard, Ozzie Whitebeak, Moe Kowbull, Sheriff Huckleberry, Morc "Madd" Snaggletooth, and Koordrin Stormbane. The Herald descends from the Comet, and the prism is covered with Violet light. The Herald of Oblivion stands before these courageous seven in all of its glory, all of its power, and all of its terror.
>
>(This fight is not traditional. Positioning does not matter. The Herald can only Clash and roll saving throws, and it randomly targets one combatant. Entropy and Order can be spent throughout the fight. Order is used to add +5 to each attack roll in a Clash. Entropy can be used to do the same or to prevent Order from being used. At this point in time, the heroes have 24 Order and the Enemy has 37 Entropy. Each one of the PCs in camp Last Stand is given a DM inspiration to hand out during this fight.)
>
>The Herald takes initiative and targets Morc. Morc gives a small appreciative prayer to Iass, but the Herald mocks the fighter's confidence, firing a beam of Violet light. Morc parries the attack but loses his hat in the process (21 Order left).
>
>Huck takes one last drag on his cigar and slams Loud Iron into the Herald with the help of Alice and all of Creation behind the attack (17 Order), causing a single drop of Violet blood seep from the Herald's face. The Herald then clashes with Huck (36 Entropy). Huck attempts to parry the attack, but it pierces through both Loud Iron the centaur himself. With a huff of a breath, Huckleberry fades from existence (37 Entropy). Scrumpo steps in to fill the gap.
>
>Throughout the fight, cracks in the prism begin to form. Tirsis launches a Fireball, empowered by her Astral flames. Koordrin's throat is wrapped with a Violet chain, but with Cassius\'s power and the help of all of Creation (15 Order), Koordrin breaks the chains. Bryan holds her action, hoping to help and defend an ally in a Clash.
>
>The Herald turns its gaze to Scrumpo, and a beam of light emanates from its eyes. Back in Camp Last Stand, Archibald attempts to Jeb and dab at the same time, performing the first Jab in existence, which inspires Scrumpo. However, this was not enough. Scrumpo sees that he won't survive the attack and reaches out for the ashes of his dead friend at his feet (38 Entropy). Iron Pipe comes in to replace the admiral. Back down in the Camp, Azolon starts to turn into ash at his edges, but he does not yet fade.
>
>Koordrin prepares himself to help the next target. However, he himself is next to endure the Herald's attack, so Bryan moves in to help him instead. The forces of Order (12) and Entropy (36) both join the Clash, but it is Order that finally prevails. Morc enters his Iass form and says "Weaver, you have my blade!" to Moe, but he corrects Morc that he is a Shaper. The Herald targets Koordrin once more, enveloping the minotaur in Violet ethereal flames. Koordrin raises Chainbreaker, the light of Cassius in his eyes. However, the Herald catches the axe and holds him by the throat. The light leaves Koordrin's eyes and he turns to dust (37 Entropy). As Zacharias steps up to the field, Mirage places a white flower in his hair. He kisses Mirage on the forehead and walks forward.
>
>Shaking with rage, Moe pulls out his bell, giving it a brief ring. "I've come a long way. I have seen so many of my friends... rise up... give their lives to stop you! This ends here. You will free those you have imprisoned. You will bear yourself. I will know you, and then we will defeat you."
>
>"TAI TA GYAR!" The Shaper speaks the Power Words to learn about the Enemy.
>
>The Herald looks behind itself and smiles. He takes a step to the side. "If you wish to see him, then look." In the Violet fire of the Herald, a shadow can be seen.
