He has also made guest appearances in _[Tearing Veil](Tearing%20Veil.md/)_. > >Zacharius is a pragmatic, intelligent, and articulate man. However, these traits come at the cost of a cold and amoral exterior. He is a man that searches for higher knowledge, and always considers the simplest, most logical solutions to his problems. However, as his Fiendish powers grow, the more effected he becomes by The Gambler Black's and The Boy's influence(s). >>>[!recite|no-i]- Background >Zacharius is a gambling addict from the Rift. He was an accountant and excellent with numbers, which he used to his advantage in counting cards while gambling. He only gambled in games in which he knew he would win by cheating, stacking the odds in his favor, or by utilizing statistical probability. Thus, one day, the Gambler Black took advantage of this. The Gambler, under the guise of a stranger, challenged Zacharius to a game. To Zach's surprise, he lost, and was then indebted to a powerful and Fiendish being.
