You make an attempt of collecting the mana being set loose by the target. > >You and the target magically clash, rolling opposed ranged spell attacks or melee spell attacks when cast within 5 feet of the target. If the opposed roll results in a tie or the target succeeds, nothing happens. If you succeed, the target's spell fails and has no effect and you gain a spell slot equivalent to the spell that was cast (this does not increase your maximum spell slots, but can exceed the maximum).  > >If the spell slot is of a higher level than you have available at your level or exceeds your maximum spell slots for the respective spell slot level, it lasts until you finish a long rest.
