Learn the difference. - Power is who owes you and whom you owe. - Struggle begets suffering, but an easy win keeps on paying. ###### ### History ##### _[Strange Roads](Strange%20Roads.md/)_ [Zacharius Aradhel](Zacharius%20Aradhel.md/) was indebted to the Gambler. To repay the debt, he was tasked to spread the Gambler's influence by rolling the dice when met with dark treasure. During the epilogue of _[Gambler's Delight](Gambler's%20Delight.md/)_, [Toot](Toot.md/) handed the Gambler's head to a servant of [Babylon](Babylon.md). This cut off Zacharius's connection to the Gambler and instead is connected to Babylon. After [a certain conversation between the gods](https://youtu.be/Gb6Bo8I7KEc?si=qWShaHPZw6EyExcU), Babylon offers to Zacharius release The Gambler Black to be in service against the enemy. He agrees, releasing the Gambler. The Gambler Black informs Zacharius that they are now even and even offers to end his service. Zacharius decides to continue their partnership and is gifted a gentleman's suit, empowered dice, and a cane. ##### _[Tearing Veil](Tearing%20Veil.md/)_ [Nidhogg](Nidhogg.md/), attempting to reach for souls in the graveyard of Fireport, was approached by The Gambler Black to consume a soul in the graveyard of Fireport. The Gambler Black senses Nidhogg's hatred towards gods and gives him an offer: Desecrate holy sites and in exchange, The Gambler Black will give him souls. He shatters a gravestone and pulls a soul as "a little skin in the game". Nidhogg accepts the deal and consumes the soul. At a hidden temple outside Fireport, Nidhogg rolls the dice inside of the temple. The Gambler Black appears in the temple, but tells him he is too weak to have the souls of the fallen paladins. Instead he gives Nidhogg a shadowy form. Afterwards, he sends word to [Zacharius](Zacharius%20Aradhel.md/) to secure the temple. In the Undersyium, the catacombs under Crestfall, Nidhogg rolls the dice at two altars at opposite ends of the catacombs, cracking them. The Gambler Black is pleased with his actions and rewards him with soul juice.
