# Adaptive Attack
Maneuver, [Attack](Attack.md)
When this [attack](Attack.md) strikes a target the character makes an opposed attribute check vs. the target. The character may use [Authority](Authority.md) vs. the target’s [Resilience](Resilience.md). If the character succeeds one of the following effects occurs based on the level of armor they possess.
If the target is wearing [light](Light%20Armor.md) or no armor this attack afflicts Tier I [Bleed](Bleed.md).
If the target is wearing [medium armor](Medium%20Armor.md), this attack afflicts Tier I [Staggered](Staggered.md).
If the target is wearing [heavy armor](Heavy%20Armor.md) this attack afflicts Tier I [Stunned](Stunned.md).
