### [Resolve](Resolve.md)
Characters from Glies have a resource pool called Resolve. This resource is culminated from the strict sense of honor and duty that is the center point of Glien culture. Characters from Glies can tap into this resource to do the following.
Gain [resistance](Resistance.md) on a saving throw.
Remove I Tier of the [Wounded](Wounded.md)/[Shattered](Shattered.md) affliction.
Remove II Tiers of the [Frightened](Frightened.md)/[Horror](Horror.md) affliction.
The maximum amount of Resolve a character has is equal to the number of character paths they possess. This resource pool is refreshed whenever the character finishes a comfortable long rest.

The Daoist cannot gain [Mana](Mana.md) through the [Channel](Channel.md) Core Action, nor do they gain a [Mana](Mana.md) point at the start of their turns as a normal Mana class. Instead, their [Mana](Mana.md) is generated by the strength of their body, training, and confidence in their discipline.
The Daoist gains 1 [Mana](Mana.md) point whenever it would accomplish one of the following actions. Each such action can only grant 1 [Mana](Mana.md) point per round.
Successfully attack an enemy with an unarmed strike
Critically hit an enemy with an attack
Successfully Afflict an enemy
Successfully Dispel an effect
Successfully Counter a spell
### [Unarmed Specialist](Unarmed%20Specialist.md) <small>(Level 1)</small>
This character gains an augment to a qualifying weapon they are proficient with. It gains another of these augments at levels 3, 6, and 9.

When this ability is first gained the Daoist chooses an element from the following list.

The Daoist changes the damage type of their unarmed strikes to this elemental damage type. In addition whenever the Daoist would critically hit an enemy with their unarmed strikes they afflict the target with Tier II [Elemental](Elemental.md) affliction respective to the element chosen.
Spells augmented by the chosen element increase the damage die of the spell by one step.

Spells with the [Attack](Attack.md) keyword may be cast through the Daoist's unarmed strike. When cast this way, the spells range and targeting parameters follow that of the unarmed strike of the Daoist. Whenever the Daoist successfully hits a target with this attack, if the spell had an augment, the augment lingers on the target as a Mantra. A Mantra lasts for the remainder of the combat. The stored augment is automatically added to any attack spell that targets this creature. The Daoist can have a number of Mantras active at a time equal to their [Willpower](Willpower.md), [Cunning](Cunning.md), or [Wit](Wit.md).

The Daoist increases the damage of their unarmed strikes to 1d6.
In addition, they may spend [Mana](Mana.md) instead of Action Points to attack with their unarmed strikes. Attacks made in this way cannot produce [Mana](Mana.md), even if they would receive the [Mana](Mana.md) from another ability or source.

The Daoist enacts a chant that causes the next spell they would cast this round to originate from a creature affected by a [Mantra](Mantras.md). A spell cast this way, uses that creature as the origin point for the spell’s parameters. All of the [Mantras](Mantras.md) on the target add their stored augments to this spell and are expended in this process. If a [Mantra](Mantras.md) is expended in this way, if it contained an [Elemental](Elemental.md) (Any) augment, that [Mantra](Mantras.md) deals damage of the same element equal to the Daoist's [Wit](Wit.md), [Cunning](Cunning.md), or [Willpower](Willpower.md).

The Daoist performs a chant that summons spectral hands made of pure Mana. The hands attack enemies within range. The total number of attacks is equal to the amount of [Mana](Mana.md) the Daoist has plus their [Wit](Wit.md), [Cunning](Cunning.md), or [Willpower](Willpower.md). These attacks cannot generate [Mana](Mana.md), nor can spells be cast through them. The Daoist expends all of their [Mana](Mana.md) after this ability resolves.

The Daoist acts a community bridge between the waking realm and the dream. The Daoist can allow entities from the Dream to enter themselves or to be conjured within a short distance around them. These creatures cannot be harmed and cannot do any harm while in this state. The creature can resist and escape from this state, returning to the dream if it wishes. The time and mana this takes is determined by the GM based on the power or nature of the entity attempting to be contacted.

The Daoist is connected with their Dream self and their Waking self in perfect harmony. Whenever the Daoist would cast a spell, they may make an Unarmed attack for no [Action Point Cost](Action%20Point%20Cost.md).
Whenever the Daoist would make an attack with their Unarmed Strikes, they increase the damage they deal by an amount equal to their current [Mana](Mana.md).
