This resource pool represents the technological advances made by the continent, allowing the use of magic infused tech and the magical steam its combination produces. Characters with Steam can tap into this resource to do the following. It should be noted that while this is Steam that is used as currency, to use it in combat is difficult and temperamental and the limitations of this ability for Kalkateshians is represented through this. Using Steam does not deplete the currency of a character. (Unless specifically stated) Gain [resistance](Resistance.md) to a spell cast by a Mana class. Heal themselves hit points equal to their [Spirit](Spirit.md). Power a device (cost and length of time determined by GM). The maximum amount of Steam a character has is equal to the number of character paths they possess. This resource pool is refreshed whenever the character finishes a comfortable long rest. ### [Vessel Casting](Vessel%20Casting.md) <small>(Level 1)</small> Keywords - *[Artificial](Artificial.md)*, *[Magic](Magic.md)*, *[Empower](Empower.md)* The Arcanist **must** choose this feature as one of its starting features. The Arcanist fires their spells through the use of a vessel, a weapon that uses pure energy to harm its enemies. Any vessel can work and may itself, augment how spells are cast. The Arcanist cannot cast spells through other means in any way. Vessels can also make attacks on their own using their parameters. ### [Magetech Augmentation](Magetech%20Augmentation.md) <small>(Level 1)</small> Keywords - *[Artificial](Artificial.md)*, *[Magic](Magic.md)*, *[Empower](Empower.md)* The Arcanist can use [Steam](Steam.md) to empower their spells as if they were powering a device. A spell empowered this way has an augment of the Arcanist’s choice applied to that spell, in addition the spell is [ascended](Spell%20Ascension.md) a number of spell levels equal to the Arcanist's [Initiative](Initiative.md), [Tenacity](Tenacity.md), or [Cunning](Cunning.md). This cannot go above the spell level the caster is capable of casting. ### [Implement Specialist](Implement%20Specialist.md) <small>(Level 1)</small> This character gains an augment to a qualifying implement they are proficient with. It gains another of these augments at levels 3, 6, and 9. ### [Kaleidoscopic Filter](Kaleidoscopic%20Filter.md) <small>(Level 2)</small> Keywords - *[Magic](Magic.md)*, *[Prismatic](Prismatic.md)*, *[Empower](Empower.md)* Whenever the Arcanist would cast a spell, they add their [Color](Color%20(Hue).md) of magic to an ally within 20ft. The next spell that ally would cast adds the [hue](Color%20(Hue).md) of that [Color](Color%20(Hue).md) to that spell. If that creature cannot cast spells they are healed for an amount equal to the Arcanist's [Initiative](Initiative.md), [Tenacity](Tenacity.md), or [Cunning](Cunning.md). ### [Arcane Tuning](Arcane%20Tuning.md) <small>(Level 4)</small> Keywords - *[Magic](Magic.md)*, *[Empower](Empower.md)* Whenever the Arcanist would gain [Mana](Mana.md), they may increase the Tier of an [imbuement](Imbuement.md) they are imbued with by I, the maximum Tier that can be achieved this way is equal to the Arcanist's [Initiative](Initiative.md), [Tenacity](Tenacity.md), or [Cunning](Cunning.md). ### [Precise Incantation](Precise%20Incantation.md) <small>(Level 5)</small> Keywords - *[Magic](Magic.md)*, *[Economy](Economy.md)* The Arcanist can cast a spell, however, the spell does not activate until the start of a creature's turn chosen by the Arcanist. The parameters of the spell are all the same and follow the targeting of the Arcanist's position when the spell activates this way. The maximum number of spells affected by this ability are equal to the Arcanist's [Initiative](Initiative.md), [Tenacity](Tenacity.md), or [Cunning](Cunning.md). ### [Direct Conduit](Direct%20Conduit.md) <small>(Level 7)</small> Keywords - *[Artificial](Artificial.md)*, *[Magic](Magic.md)*, *[Supernatural](Supernatural.md)*, *[Attack](Attack.md)* [APC](Action%20Point%20Cost.md) – 3 Target – Enemy Range – 40ft The Arcanist selects an enemy in range and unleashes all of their [Steam](Steam.md) into a beam of force into that creature. The Arcanist makes a spell attack against the target. If the attack defeats the creature or afflicts them with the [Shattered](Shattered.md) affliction, the Arcanist gains [Mana](Mana.md) equal to the amount of [Steam](Steam.md) used in this way. ### [Crystalize Mana](Crystalize%20Mana.md) <small>(Level 8)</small> Keywords - *[Artificial](Artificial.md)*, *[Mana](Mana.md)*, *[Downtime](Downtime.md)* The Arcanist has the capacity to create shards of mana. They may do this whenever they would take the Rest camp action. This can only be used while [Supplied](Supplied.md). This crystalized mana, can be used by the Arcanist or by an ally to either give them [Mana](Mana.md) out of combat or at the start of combat to give the character an amount of [Mana](Mana.md) equal to the Arcanist's [Initiative](Initiative.md), [Tenacity](Tenacity.md), or [Cunning](Cunning.md). ### [Arcane Apotheosis](Arcane%20Apotheosis.md) <small>(Level 10)</small> Keywords - *[Artificial](Artificial.md)*, *[Mana](Mana.md)* The Arcanist can use [Mana](Mana.md) to fuel the basic [Steam](Steam.md) abilities from the continental powers of Kalkatesh (but not class features).
