The Warden gains proficiency in Shields. Whenever the Warden would activate the [Block](Block.md) action, they may instead cast a [Protect](Protect.md) spell. This spell cast in this way reduces its Mana cost equal to the APC of the shield wielded by the Warden. The Warden follows a loose code of defending the weak and innocent that is further defined by the laws of their homeland or faction. Failure to adhere to these codes may result in the loss of the Warden's Vow abilities. ### [Shield Specialist](Shield%20Specialist.md) <small>(Level 1)</small> This character gains a [Shield Augment](Shield%20Augment.md) from a shield they are proficient with. That enemy must make an opposed check against the Warden. The Warden uses their [Competence](Competence.md) or [Authority](Authority.md) vs the enemy's [Tenacity](Tenacity.md) or [Willpower](Willpower.md). If the Warden wins, the target incurs Tier III [Taunt](Prism%20(Testing)/Keywords/Afflictions/Mundane/Taunt.md). ### [Tenet of Steel](Tenet%20of%20Steel.md) <small>(Level 2)</small> Keywords - *[Magic](Magic.md)*, *[Empower](Empower.md)*, *[Oath](Oath.md)* The Warden makes a pledge to protect those around them. They will adhere to the following tenets in order of priority. 1) Protect those that cannot protect themselves 2) Seek the fight, cowardice is beneath you 3) Strike an opponent in the front, not the back 4) Protect yourself, wasting your life helps no one As long as the Warden maintains the above tenets, they gain access to the following. The APC of the [channel](Channel.md) is reduced by the APC of the Warden's shield. In addition, their [Protect](Protect.md) spells gain [Resistance](Resistance.md) to [Dispel](Dispel.md) effects. ### [Seal of the Warden](Seal%20of%20the%20Warden.md) <small>(Level 8)</small> Keywords - *[Magic](Magic.md)*, *[Divine](Divine.md)*, *[Supernatural](Supernatural.md)* The Warden now has the capacity to spend [Mana](Mana.md) to infuse a door, gate, window, bridge, or similar defensive structure against damage. The amount of [Mana](Mana.md) and time required are determined by the GM. Objects reinforced this way have [resistance](Resistance.md) to all damage and are [immune](Immunity.md) to effects that would magically manipulate them. In addition, whenever the Warden would incur Tier VII [Reinforced](Reinforced.md)/[Warded](Warded.md), they incur [Saturated](Saturated.md) III.
