The spellcaster target with this ability must make an opposed attribute test against the Cipher Mage. The Cipher Mage uses their [Guile](Guile.md), [Wit](Wit.md) or [Cunning](Cunning.md). The enemy uses their [Guile](Guile.md), [Wit](Wit.md) or [Cunning](Cunning.md). If the Cipher Mage wins, the spell and its effects are negated and the caster is refunded their mana spent. The APC of this ability is equal to the spells APC reduced by an amount equal to the Cipher Mage’s [Guile](Guile.md), [Wit](Wit.md) or [Cunning](Cunning.md). The MPC of this ability is equal to the spell’s MPC. ### [Encoded Spells](Encoded%20Spells%20(Cipher%20Mage).md) <small>(Level 1)</small> Keywords – *[Magic](Magic.md), [[Cipher]], [Empower](Empower.md) The Cipher Mage casts all of their spells with the [[Cipher]] keyword added to them. ### [Glyph Casting](Glyph%20Casting%20(Cipher%20Mage).md) <small>(Level 1)</small> Keywords – *[Magic](Magic.md), [[Cipher]], [Imbue](Imbue.md)* APC – 1 Target – Ally Range – Touch The Cipher Mage may touch an ally and imbue them with Tier 1 [Bestow](Bestow.md). The Cipher Mage treats all spells they cast with the [[Cipher]] keyword to treat all of those marked and the aura of their Bestow imbuements as the ranges and targets of all of their spells. If they do, they gain THP equal to the result of that check. This THP is spread between the Cipher Mage and their [Glyph Casting](Glyph%20Casting%20(Cipher%20Mage).md) targets.
