Whenever the Spell Sage would gain mana, they may choose to convert it to Gambled mana. If they do, they may only use that mana to use their Class features, not to cast spells. If the Spell Sage uses an ability that costs mana, that has an opposed roll and is not a spell, the Spell Sage recovers that much mana, plus an additional mana point. The Spell Sage may not use this feature on mana this feature produces.

Keywords - *[[Mundane]]*, *[[Strategy]]*
APC - 1
Target - 1 Creature
Range - 120ft
The Spell Sage attempts an ability check against a creature within range. The Spell Sage may use [Competence](Competence.md), [Cunning](Cunning.md), or [Wit](Wit.md). The DC of this check is 10 + the creature's CR. If the Spell Sage should succeed, they may learn the ability scores, an offensive statistic, a defensive statistic, movement, senses, a special ability, a piece of equipment, a trait, or an effect the target may have. Learning a special ability also reveals the names of the special abilities that creature has. The same is true for equipment, traits and effects.
