It gains another of these augments at level 3, 6, and 9. ### [Dark Words](Dark%20Words.md) (Level 1) Keywords – *[Magic](Prism/Glossary/Keywords/Typing%20Effects/Magic.md), [Depower](Depower.md), [Reaction](Prism/Glossary/Keywords/Typing%20Effects/Reaction.md)* APC - 1 Target – An Enemy Faith Ability or Spell Range – 30 ft. The Heretic selects a spell or ability controlled by an enemy Faith source. The Heretic attempts to counter that spell or ability by making an opposed attribute check using their [Guile](Guile.md), [Tenacity](Tenacity.md) or [Willpower](Willpower.md). The enemy may attempt to resist by using a [Sub-Attribute](Prism%20Attributes.md) of their choice. If the Heretic succeeds, the target is countered, and its resources are not refunded. ### [False Dogmas](False%20Dogmas.md) (Level 1) Keyword – *[Magic](Prism/Glossary/Keywords/Typing%20Effects/Magic.md), [Empower](Empower.md), [Oath](Oath.md)* The Heretic chooses a Vow ability from a Faith Class they do not have on their class list. The Heretic follows all of the dogma of that faith and mechanical requirements of that Vow, but receives the benefits of the other Vow Class Features they possess without needing to adhere to their requirements. ### [Tenet of Dissent](Tenet%20of%20Dissent.md) (Level 2) Keyword – *[Magic](Prism/Glossary/Keywords/Typing%20Effects/Magic.md), [Empower](Empower.md), [Oath](Oath.md)* The Heretic gains the benefits of the Tenet class an enemy they encounter possesses during combat. At the start of the Heretic’s turn, all [Imbuements](Imbuement.md) within 15 ft. from a Faith source are reduced by 1 Tier. All [Afflictions](Affliction.md) in this range have their Tier increased by 1. Each ally controlled Imbuement (or the Heretic’s) that is reduced deals 1 Force damage to every enemy affected by this ability. Each enemy controlled Affliction that is increased heals all of the Heretic’s allies (including the Heretic) for each enemy affected by this ability. ### [Surge of Horror](Surge%20of%20Horror.md) (Level 5) Keywords – *[Supernatural](Supernatural.md), [Inflict](Inflict)* Whenever the Heretic would use the [Channel](Prism/Glossary/Core%20Features/Core%20Actions/Channel.md) Core Action, they may attempt a Deception check against enemies within 20 ft. of them. If they do, the enemies may make opposed Insight rolls.
