# Tyre
>_The Traitor, The Stranger, The One Who Sinned, The Cardinal, The Exile_
### Background
**Tyre** is the main antagonist in the Trial of Tyre (*[Heart of Tyre](Heart%20of%20Tyre.md/)*, *[Shadow of Tyre](Shadow%20of%20Tyre.md/)*, *[Soul of Tyre](Soul%20of%20Tyre.md/)*) campaigns. He is also known as the [Traitor](Traitor "wikilink") and the creator of [The Labyrinth](The%20Labyrinth.md). In [Glies](Glies.md), he is known as \"The Stranger\".[^1](https://youtu.be/w_PUirOsSPk?feature=shared)
## History
### Background
Tyre served the [Seven](The%20Seven.md), becoming a [[Cardinall]] after stealing one\'s visage.[^2](https://youtu.be/guDP-RxKsvw?feature=shared) Though the views of himself and the Seven likely did not align, he saw the [Enemy](The%20Enemy.md) as a greater threat, possibly because he couldn\'t bear the notion of another entity being more powerful than himself.
Tyre did the dirty work of the Seven, breaking natural and ethical boundaries in order to advance the research necessary to facing the [[Violet]]. He learned however that the only way he could truly face the Enemy was to become a [[Traitor]], so he betrayed the Seven to remove all remaining boundaries to what he could research. Both as a result of this and a way to cope with the nature of the knowledge he gained from his work, Tyre over time was driven mad, as experimentation in his eyes had no limitations.
He was one of the few individuals that have found loopholes through the rules of creation in order to bypass the reset when the wheel turns. He was able to find a way to not only bypass his normal human lifespan, so that he could live long enough, but also to keep his consciousness secured so that with each [[iteration]], he did not forget.
Tyre\'s research had an immense scope, traveling across the universe as part of it. To cover more ground, he split himself into three aspects: the Shadow, the Heart, and the Soul, each of which focused their research on a different aspect of life. To contain his research he constructed the [Arcane Labyrinth](The%20Labyrinth.md) in the Sickened Sea, where he investigated his final goal of discovering the nature of [[Violet Death]]. By the turn of the Sixth Iteration, Tyre himself remained at the end of his Labyrinth, totally consumed by his madness.
#### Glies
In [Glies](Glies.md), Tyre was considered a hero, under his nom de plume, \"The Stranger\". He helped overthrow the [Ominax](Ominax.md), which were a major threat during *The Glies Expedition*. By doing this he pushed Glies in the right direction for future development.
Tyre is also connected to prophetic poems found in [Glies](Glies.md):
> Blood of my blood, the stranger has come home\
> And with the blood of The Stranger flows, secrets yet unknown\
> The exile sought, its fate determined\
> The winds thirteen have blown, paths are followed, to waves unknown[^3](https://youtu.be/77LHGaJBsoU?feature=shared)
The poem predicted the coming of the [[Apprentices]] who are ordained by Tyre\'s blood.
### [Shadow of Tyre](Shadow%20of%20Tyre.md/)
The research of Tyre\'s Shadow had focused around the nature of the *will* of a soul, investigating how death interacted with the soul and what the concept of memory actually is. His Shadow was represented by a [[shroud]] called Doubt, originating from the term \"shadow of a doubt\".
Tyre had taken the faces of many Aasimars, wearing them and previously appearing before a number of the players in the past.[^4](https://youtu.be/flS6r2E1en8?feature=shared) While in the labyrinth, the *Shadow of Tyre* party acquires many faces and put them in [Toot's](Toot.md/) box. At first, they appeared as the faces of doctors that the *Heart of Tyre* party had encountered in their wing of the labyrinth, but after dispelling the illusion magic on them, all three Tyre groups were able to recognize at least one of the faces.
The faces that the group recognizes are:
- [[Donny Wheat]], who appeared before [Toot's](Toot.md/) refraction, [[Ronio]] in Hector\'s Hymn;
- [[Len Yes]], an Aasimar prisoner who appeared in [Deals in the Dark: Episode 03](https://youtu.be/7JVLOoMJ8CY?feature=shared)
- [[Jacob Corn]], a cleric of Inca who appeared in *[Gailen's Gate](Gailen's%20Gate.md/)*
Along with these faces is a mosaic mask made out of Changelings.
### [Heart of Tyre](Heart%20of%20Tyre.md/)
The research of Tyre\'s Heart was focused around the nature of the vessel that carries the soul, and trying to create the perfect being. He had traveled to [Azengolt](Azengolt.md), where he talked to [Crowley](Crowley.md) and gained knowledge of the [Depthar](Depthar.md). From the Depthar, he learned that life and death weren\'t entirely separate. Any creature infected by the Depthar do not follow the rules of life. They live, evolve, and grow without mortal constraints. Death by injury or sickness becomes a thing of the past. Tyre wanted to understand how this rule was broken, and took a few samples back to [Kalkatesh](Kalkatesh.md) to study the Depthar further.[^5](https://youtu.be/8Sw6JaAJSHk?feature=shared)
Tyre saw the Depthar as the perfect vessel, and therefore wanted to combine it with what he saw as the perfect soul: a Seven. His various attempts at creating controlled types of Depthar were called fleschrimes, the last of which was Experiment 777: the [[Fleschrime Omega]], created by combining a Depthar with the partially-infected Seven Belladan. Though this effort was successful, the resulting creature was not controllable as Tyre had hoped, so he began investigating using the power of the handmaidens and the [Red](Red%20Star.md)[^6](https://youtu.be/M_qUihu9URM?feature=shared), but these efforts proved to not be enough. The Fleschrime became uncooperative, forcing him to abandon that part of his research.
### [Soul of Tyre](Soul%20of%20Tyre.md/)
The research of Tyre\'s Soul focused around the nature of life within the soul and how a soul is created, trying to replicate the processes of [[Purgatory]] that gave rise to the [Seven](The%20Seven.md). Specifically, the research focused around how the will created from the research of his Shadow combined with the Lifestream and the power of the [[Prism]] to create a soul, which is normally a process that cannot occur artificially. His efforts in this seemed to have been partially successful, though the main takeaway from his research here was his discovery into how to create an alternate existence, with which he began to plan to create his own should the [[Violet]] win. In the end however, it was from this that the Last Iteration, used to seal the [[Colors]], would be made.
### [Tyre's End](Tyre's%20End.md/)
After Tyre confronted and fought the adventures at the bottom of [The Labyrinth](The%20Labyrinth.md), he revealed some of his final work. He attempted to recreate the colors and the prism, as they were the missing piece in previous iterations and were needed to stop the [Enemy](The%20Enemy.md). However, this work was not needed as the actual colors had awakened during the current iteration. Upon learning that [[Violet Death]] was not the end and that there is a transfer and storage of energy, he adjusted his plan with the weapon he created.
The weapon Tyre created was the Last Iteration. It is \"a clear orb flowing with mysterious energy.\" It contains a colorless color. It is \"a world\... A vessel of transference, not just for life, but for life\'s seed. For [[Yggdrasil]] to grow, separated from the taint of this world. No colors, no entropy, at least to start.\"
\"I had hoped that by replicating life and existence, and placing it within a different reality untainted by the prisms that we could live a facsimile of life, and that no one would know the better. But now that you have revealed that it is not true destruction, that there are those that are yet still savable, then perhaps through some strange amalgamation, that perhaps the iteration that I have created, the turning of the wheel personified\... may yet be used a different way. Pay heed to my words torchbearers, the gift that I have given you, you mustn\'t miss. When you find the center of the [[Violet]], place it there. It is a world, a world it cannot escape\... \[This plan\] is the only thing that has not been tried\... No trace of it (the Violet) can remain\" and all of it must be trapped within the Last Iteration.
\"Should you succeed, then I shall meet my fate. A punishment of my own making\... These prismatic braziers \[burning with the false colors\] are enough to incinerate me beyond all recognition\... Everything\", soul included.
### [Phase 4](Phase_4 "wikilink")
Tyre held his word and was thus destroyed at the end of [Phase 3](Phase_3 "wikilink"), as was confirmed by the 7 eyes. 50 years later his research lived on and was being investigated in [Glies](Glies.md). Some of this research included the creation of artificial souls, vessels and bodies. Topics such as capturing the essence of a creature and placing it into another have been researched heavily by [[Sinning Simon]].[^7](https://youtu.be/D34x9FCNrt4?feature=shared) Although Tyre paid for his crimes, the wizard found the secret to last beyond [[iterations]], beyond his own annihilation. Three [[Apprentices]] were ordained by the stranger\'s blood. When they meet, Tyre, \"the one who sinned\", will return.[^8](https://youtu.be/6teiNOKXuto?feature=shared)[^9](https://youtu.be/9F7-U8gm05I?feature=shared)
The Tiefling [[Scribbles]] became the first Apprentice by editing the [Scroll of Not'Chek](Fable%20of%20Not'Chek.md) with her blood. She is the Apprentice of the *Shadow* and learned the lesson *\"Nothing is Forbidden\"*.[^10](https://youtu.be/hlJBRed2AR0?feature=shared)
The Changeling [Sus'ke](Sus'ke.md/) became the second Apprentice by following the Way of the Immortal Blade, which gave him two whips made of his blood. He is the Apprentice of the *Heart* and learned the lesson *\"Nothing is Sacred\"*.[^11](https://youtu.be/DX6tu7D9EMA?feature=shared)
The Ho'ask [Tomoe](Tomoe.md/) became the third Apprentice by drinking from a pot of green liquid that would have destroyed his soul, but instead severed his connection with the [Grey One](The%20Grey%20One.md). He is the Apprentice of the *Soul* and learned the lesson *\"Nothing is Impossible\"*.
## Apprentices

- [Tomoe](Tomoe.md/) - (Soul)
## Traits
- **Adaptive**:
- This creature can add and remove traits
- **Collective Knowledge**:
- Unique to Tyre. Throughout this fight Tyre will pull from knowledge of all things in the library and all Tyre's versions of himself, RNG abilities that Tyre gains.
- **Grand Clash**:
- This enemy is available for every single clash type. It has advantage on every single clash type. The cost of failure, no matter the degree, results in a great failure/death.
- **Greater Combo**:
- Allows up to 3 layers of synergistic abilities. In explaining that, this trait allows for abilities to be set up in a way that they combo with one another more easily.
- **Greater Cunning**:
- This enemy can use meta knowledge and is able to use the DM's Information and Intelligence.
- **Hopeless**:
- This is the highest form of Ruthless. This enemy will seek to set up situations to kill player characters, even as to go to great detriment to itself to kill a PC, and the deciding roll of their fate is not allowed to be modified in any way besides the base roll. (No Lucky/Inspiration/Etc.)
- **Tactician**:
- Player characters may not go back upon their actions once they have passed their turn.
## Etymology
- Tyre could be a reference to the outer part of the wheel.
- Tyre could be a reference to the Germanic and Nordic god Tyr.
